This very clean C. F. Martin Style 1-T Model Tenor Ukulele from the 1950s was handcrafted in Nazareth, PA, and showcases a natural lacquer finish, mahogany body, and neck, along with a rosewood fingerboard. It comes complete with its original chipboard case.

The Martin Tenor Ukulele is highly sought after. In contrast to the more common soprano size, its larger body and extended neck contribute to a deeper and richer tone. Additionally, the extended fingerboard provides ample space for exploring advanced modern ukulele playing styles.

Its features are characteristic of 1950s manufacture, including Champion tuning pegs with black buttons, a "C.F. Martin & Co." gold decal on the headstock face, tortoise celluloid binding on the body, and the older style 12-fret neck joint. T1-Cs are notable for there exceptional sound quality, characterized by a warm, mellow tone and substantial volume.

Overall length: 25 1/2 in. (64.8 cm.)
Lower Bout Width: 9 in. (22.9 cm.)
Body Depth: 2 3/4 in. (7 cm.)
Scale length: 17 in. (432 mm.)
Nut Width: 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.)

This lovely 1-C was clearly not played much at all! It's a prime example of a ukulele being purchased on a Hawaiian vacation, played for a few months, and then stored for 70+ years. You would be hard pressed to find a cleaner example!

It still retains its new looking original brown faux alligator case, a Martin hang tag from the store where it was purchased, and dealer price tags. Minimal play wear is present in the usual area of the upper bout, as well as a few light marks. Overall, an amazing looking and beautiful sounding find!
