This lovely and RARE high end “Honolulu" model Hawaiian Lap Steel guitar was made by Antoine Di Mauro in Paris probably in the late 1940s. It features a cedar top, laminated highly flamed maple back and sides and a mahogany neck.

The design is reminiscent of guitars made by the Selmer company in Paris, as well as various other French Django Reinhardt inspired builders. But it also proves that the Hawaiian music craze of the first half of the 1900s extended throughout Europe.

It has the original bridge, tailpiece and yellow button (upside down) Delaruelle tuners. The A.Di Mauro branded mark is on the back of the headstock. It is set up with fret markers and a raised nut set up for Hawaiian (or lap steel) style playing with a bar.

Scale length: 25.1/8 in. (638.2 mm.)
Nut Width 1 15/16 in. (49.2 mm.)
Lower Bout: 13 3/8 in. (33.97 cm.)
Overall length: 38 1/8 in. (96.84 cm.)
End Block Depth: 3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm.)

The finish is in excellent condition for its age with only very light marks and very little signs of any use. Get Gino Bordin's Selmer guitar sound for a fraction of the price!
