1936 Gibson EH-150 7 String Hawaiian Lap Steel Electric Guitar w' Charlie Christian Pickup
This rarer Gibson EH-150 7-String model Lap Steel Electric Guitar was handcrafted in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and features a sunburst lacquer finish, maple body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, the original tweed hard shell case, and the legendary Charlie Christian pickup!
This lap steel guitar is stunning, with its lovely flame maple top. These semi-hollow body maple steels all have a very rich, powerful tone with a lot of definition. It's a great-sounding and playing steel, as well as a stylish instrument with a classic Gibson look! This early version has the tone and volume on opposing sides.
This Gibson EH-150 is fitted with Gibson's original "Charlie Christian" blade pickup with large magnets! This allows for a powerful, full bodied sound. Pickups of this era are widely regarded as being among the finest sounding lap steel guitars in Gibson history, in addition to being one of the first successful electric instruments.
The CC pickup was only available on the EH-150's earliest configurations. Not long after this example was made Gibson started gluing the backs on the EH-150 models and moved to a smaller U shaped magnet version of the blade style pickup.

This steel shows light signs of use but remains original and is a wonderful sounding instrument. The finish has light dings, dents, and checking consistent with normal use. Two vintage correct Waverly tuners with the same footprint as the other originals replace the top two tuners. The electronics appear to be all original and the Centralab pots function as they should without static. Its sunburst lacquer has a deep, rich patina. It comes housed in its fully functional original case.
