1928 National Style 3 Tricone Round Neck Guitar Lilly of the Valley
1928 National Style 3 Tricone Round Neck Guitar Lilly of the Valley
Round neck National Tricones are highly demanded vintage guitars! The style 3 “lily-of-the-valley” pattern was priced close to the Style 4. As a result, they didn’t sell as well, with many professional players opting for the top-of-the-line model back when these guitars were new. Many collectors of resonator guitars actually prefer the Style 3 over any other now, making this both a rare and very desirable guitar.
The Style 3 was the only national model that went through a series of engraving changes. This lovely guitar features the third version of the engraving pattern on its front, with slight variations on the back as well.
It’s one of the loudest and best playing vintage Tricones we have ever seen. It plays with ease up and down the neck and thunders with a clear tone. You won’t be disappointed with this lovely Tricone!

Everything on the guitar, including the cones, 3-point saddle unit, fluted tailpiece, and engraved Waverly tuners, appears original, with the exception of three of the tuner buttons and its wooden saddle inset. It has age appropriate abrasions and a few dings here and there. There was a minor cosmetic neck repair done previously which does not affect durability or playability. This is a nice "Spanish" roundneck Tricone which is great-looking and fabulous-sounding. It even includes the rare original hard shell case with some wear but still in functional condition.
