1920s Martin Style 2 Mahogany Ukulele 2M Uke
1920s Martin Style 2 Mahogany Ukulele 2M Uke
This sweet mahogany late 1920s Martin style 2M ukulele is all original and is a very nice example that sounds and looks great. The volume is usually quite powerful on prewar Martin ukes, and this one is no exception! It sports typical features of the era, including original, upgraded (over style 0) enclosed round-button tuners and some nice-looking body binding. It's set up perfectly, and it's very fun to play both rhythm and fingerstyle.
Overall Length: 20 3/4 in. (52.7 cm.)
Lower Bout: 6 1/4 in. (15.9 cm.)
Body Depth: 2 5/16 in. (5.9 cm.)
Scale length: 13 5/8 in. (346 mm.).
Nut Width: 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.).
It has some minor age-appropriate wear here and there but is overall very well preserved. It plays in tune well and projects. There is one very tight grain following hairline on the back that is stable and quite hard to see. There is a small chip on the bridge that does not affect string retention or playability.
